IGMA Guidelines for Sloped Glazing

Sloped glazing is, by building code definition, glass inclined 15˚ or more from the vertical. Glass installed within 15˚ of vertical either inward or outward is considered vertical glazing. By virtue of their design, sloped glazing systems inherently require careful consideration of the insulating glass unit construction. The glass used in these systems will be subjected to more complex loads than glass installed in a vertical application and, therefore, must be evaluated carefully.

IGMA is the trade association representing the interests of the Insulating Glass industry not only in North America but worldwide. Our focus is on developing and advancing new technologies in the manufacture of insulating glass units through development of codes and standards, topic industry publications, education, product certification and leading edge research.
